A101 Animation (Grades 9-12 1 semester, Fine Art Elective .5 credit)
This course introduces the fundamental principles of drawing for animation. Students will learn skills and techniques to be applied to the development of animation sequences using digital software. It introduces the basic terminology, concepts and principles of animation. Students learn historical perspective, current technologies, applications of animation and basic principles of 2D animation. A109 Crafts (Grades 9-12, 1 semester, Fine Art Elective .5 credit) Craft can be defined as the creation of an original, high quality, handmade art piece that demonstrates a functional or ceremonial purpose in society. In this course, students will develop their ability to imagine, design and create art pieces with skilled use of design, materials, processes, technology and the influences of art history and culture. The class will focus mainly on the use of glass in cold and warm forms. Glass process may include stained glass, etching, fusing, casting and technology-related processes. Other project materials may include ceramics, metal, leather and found objects. Fee Required. This course is a pre-requisite for Intermediate Sculpture

A122 Beginning Digital Photo (Grades 9-12 1 semester, Fine Art Elective .5 credit) Students will not only learn how to take outstanding photographs, but also learn to edit and manipulate photos with Photoshop. Personal/school supplied 35mm digital camera is required for this class. The reading for this course is often technical; therefore, better than average reading skills are recommended. Students will be responsible for completing their work by the deadlines without instructor supervision. Fee Required. This class is a prerequisite for Advanced Digital Photography
A123 Advanced Digital Photo (Grades 9-12 1 semester, Fine Art Elective .5 credit) This course is designed for students who are interested in urthering their photographic skills by investigating more challenging concepts and techniques. Students will be introduced to new photographers, digital artists, visual artists and more sophisticated techniques as points of departure to create work that reflects the student’s “photographic voice”.Work is expected to be of high quality in thought, process and product. To obtain college credit, students will prepare and submit an essay and portfolio that will be concentrates on three sections: Quality, Breadth and Concentration. Fee required. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in a beginning and advanced level art courses plus teacher recommendation.
